1 vs. 100 on Xbox live = hell yeah

Bravo Microsoft,
but actually this time.

Recently launched to Xbox Live Canada is the Beta for 1 vs. 100. It's based on the TV show of the same name, which has one person trying to outlast a mob of 100 people in trivia. Every time someone in the mob gets a question wrong, they're eliminated from the mob and the "one" has a chance to get a bigger prize. And that's exactly what the online version is too. The show has 100 Xbox live members playing against one person, although thousands and thousands of other people play along too but aren't eligible for prizes.

Yeah, prizes.

It's really an actual gameshow. The "one" and the mob both get an opportunity to win microsoft points, and I believe there will be other bigger prizes as well. The mob and one are selected based on how often they play and how well they do.

And I haven't mentioned my favourite part yet: there's a live host. Like, an actual game show host commenting on what's going on and the players involved. Because of the host and the prizes, the show is only gonna happen at specific times. It was on last night for a couple hours and my brother and I managed to catch the last 15 minutes or so. It was a lot of fun and both of us were pretty impressed with how it's set up. Afterwards there was an "Extended" play session, which was half an hour long and was just trivia questions without the host. Even that was really fun since right now all the questions are Canadian trivia.

The extended play happened again tonight for an hour and is on again Thursday. Friday and Saturday they're doing the full show again with a host, and I'm definitely looking forward to it. This is exactly what Xbox live needs, it's a game that's interactive, has prizes, and has a live host commenting on what's going on. Oh, I forgot my other favourite part: it's FREE.
